A chef suffered burns to his face and arms in a flash fire in a pub kitchen on Sunday morning.
Firefighters were called to the Waldegrave Arms in Waldegrave Road at 10.24am and the chef was taken to hospital with minor burns to his face and arms. No one else was injured.
Two fire engines and about 12 firefighters and officers from Twickenham fire station attended and the fire was under control by 10.42am.
Wade Foster, who works at the pub, said he had been told oil caught fire inside the oven while potatoes were being roasted.
Speaking yesterday, e said: "Our chef caught the fire and was injured while he tried to sort it out, then the fire brigade came and it was all handled very quickly. He has been in hospital most of today but I think he will be OK.
"We might need a new oven and fryer though."
