Three healthcare workers have become fellows in recognition of their contribution to the health visiting profession.

Lynne Watson, Gerry Haliburn and Judy Zur from Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare (HRCH) NHS Trust were commended at a ceremony in London and a first of its kind for the Institute of Health Visiting.

The fellowship scheme, sponsored by the Department of Health, was launched in May 2014 and acknowledges 150 health visitors who have made a difference to the health of children and families across the country.

To become a fellow, the three HRCH health visitors were assessed for their contributions to health visiting through a rigorous application process.

Ms Zur said: "The client experience is very important and knowing that the service is valued by Richmond and families is very satisfying.

"I consider early intervention to be crucial when working with families. Heath visiting is focused on supporting families, working with individuals who want the best for their children."

To be commended, each fellow had to demonstrate excellence in practice along with their leadership potential.
