Runners looking to take on their next challenge in 2015 are being sought by the Poppy Factory.

The Richmond charity wants people to help raise funds to get disabled veterans back into work by taking part in this year's Richmond Running Festival on September 6.

Taking place on the same course as last year's event, runners will start at Kew Gardens and run either 10km or a half marathon beside the River Thames, finishing in Old Deer Park.

Following last year's event, the Poppy Factory received £16,693.32 to put towards their Getting You Back to Work programme.

Liz George, head of fundraising at the Poppy Factory, said: "The donations make a great difference to the lives of the veterans with whom we work, helping them and their families achieve a brighter future.

"As a charity based in Richmond for over 90 years, it is wonderful to be an integral part of a great local event."
