Students and parents visited Belgian battlefields and cemeteries before laying a poppy wreath.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

The Step on Stage Academy of Performing Arts in Twickenham and Hampton Hill went to the area around Ypres on Saturday, February 28.

Pupils from Hersham, Twickenham, Hampton, Hampton Hill and Teddington, went on the trip as part of the school's four year programme of events to commemorate World War I. This is to bring the lives of men who fought and died to life through drama, stories, dance and music.

Hersham schoolgirl Fiona Lock led a short reflections service at Tyne Cott Cemetery in Flanders.

The students participated in the last post ceremony at the Menin Gate and Elise Gibson and Saoirse Frisby, along with the school director Emma-Louise McCauley-Tinniswood laid a wreath.
