A charity supporting about 250 families in the borough has been shortlisted for a £3,000 grant.

Home-Start Richmond, which helps young children from families going through difficulties, could win the money from the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2014 if it receives enough votes.

Martina Philips, manager of Home-Start Richmond, said: "This money will make a huge difference to Home-Start Richmond as it will enable us to support some of the most vulnerable children in our local area, giving them a better start in life."

People can vote online for the charity or in a Lloyds bank until October 10 and the cause that received the most votes win be handed £3,000 while other groups will receive £2,000, £1,000 or £500.
