Two scouting volunteers were handed Rotary Paul Harris Fellowships in a surprise presentation this week.

Former president of the Rotary Club of Kew Gardens, Suzanne Sheffer, and Rotary national president, Peter King, presented commemorative pins to Mary Noyes and David Isaac at the Coach and Horses Hotel on Wednesday, August 20.

For more than 30 years, Ms Noyes has brought people of all ages together through music and with the 2nd Kew Brownie Pack.

She has been district commissioner since 1998 and has helped the community through her fundraising and voluntary work.

Long term Kew resident Mr Isaac has volunteered for many years at the Kew Scout group in several capacities and now services as group Scout leader and supervisor of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

The two volunteers told Rotary members and guests about the work they do before being presented with the fellowship pins.

The fellowships are awarded by Rotary Club’s to individuals in recognition of their exceptional service to the community.
