Theatre fans can enjoy the delights of Shakespeare outdoors against the backdrop of the iconic naked ladies statue in Twickenham’s Fountain Gardens.
One of the borough’s longest standing theatre companies, the Richmond Shakespeare Society (RSS), will host its summer show when its members perform Shakespeare’s timeless comedy, Love Labour’s Lost.
The performance is packed with a cascade of witty words, puns, rhymes, malapropisms, double entendres, sonnets and songs.
The play follows the King of Navarre and his three closest Lords, who take an oath to study for three years, during which time they must not speak to a woman - forgetting that the Princess of France, and her three ladies, are due to arrive.
As the open air performance is likely to be a sell-out, audience members are advised to book early.
RSS presents Love’s Labour’s Lost; July 20 to 26; Fountain Gardens, Champions Wharf, The Embankment, Twickenham; 7.45pm, plus 3pm on Saturday, July 25; £10 to £14; 020 8744 0547 or richmondshakespeare.org.uk.
