Two men banned from Richmond while awaiting trial
12:57pm Monday 14th January 2013 in Richmond News By Amy Dyduch
Two men have been temporarily banned from Richmond after they were allegedly found tampering with an ATM in George Street.
Senthu Kulavarathan, 20, and Nadarajah Nanthakumar, 30, appeared at Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court on January 9, charged with three counts of possessing items for use in fraud.
Mr Curtis, prosecuting, told the court that on August 20 the men were seen “tampering with an ATM machine”.
The court heard the men were arrested and charged after police allegedly found them carrying items that could have been used for fraud, including a device used to steal bank cards, a glove and glue.
Mr Kulavarathan, also accused of carrying a stolen bank card, has been charged with theft by finding along with the other three charges.
The pair are on conditional bail until their plea and case management hearing at Kingston Crown Court on February 7.
Mr Nanthakumar, from Mitcham, and Mr Kulavarathan, from Tooting, must not contact each other or enter the borough of Richmond before their next appearance at Kingston Crown Court as part of their bail conditions.
