A Chiswick man with a list of convictions and wanted on an arrest warrant, lured a 15-year-old virgin to his brother's flat and raped her.

David Sylvan, now aged 20, of Wilkinson Way, Chiswick, agreed he had sex with the teenager two years ago, but claimed she wanted sex and it was "consensual".

Sylvan denied raping the girl on December 27, 2005, but was found guilty by a jury at Isleworth Crown Court and remanded in custody to be sentenced in the New Year.

Prosecutor Fiona Horlick said Sylvan and the girl met through her sister. He was then 18 and she was only 15 and a virgin who intended to remain that way.

Counsel said: "They met about three times and it was not a sexual relationship, particularly because she wished to keep her virginity" said counsel. They arranged to meet that afternoon and although she knew they were going to his brother's flat, she didn't know anything would happen.

"When they got to the flat it was empty - the brother was not there. It crossed her mind that Sylvan might try something but she didn't feel he would do anything against her will."

But Sylvan led her to the bedroom and took off her outer clothing and asked if she was ready. She said: "Ready for what? You know I don't want to have sex with you." She was adamant that was not what she wanted to do, counsel continued.

Sylvan took no notice and went ahead. The court was told: "He knew full well what he was doing and said to her afterwards Don't bother to tell me if you're pregnant because I don't care'."

The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, ran out of the flat in tears and went up to a woman in the street who asked if she was all right. She told the woman she had been raped and was taken to the police station.

Sylvan had given her another name - Ricardo Elliott - but the police managed to trace him after the girl pointed out his brother's flat, said counsel.

He said the girl had rung him wanting to have sex and claimed he did not know the girl was only 15.
