Hounslow police have warned people to be vigilant in the town centre after a second person was attacked by a gang near the Treaty Centre.

The 35-year-old man was walking in Whitton Road at about 1am on Thursday, July 12, towards the Treaty Centre when he was attacked by a group of eight Asian youths.

It is feared the attacks were linked, after a similar incident last week left a teenage boy in hospital with stab wounds.

The victim heard one of the gang say "We'll beat him up" and he was punched to the ground and repeatedly kicked and stamped on.

He managed to regain his footing and hit one of his attackers before running off along Whitton Road towards the Treaty Centre. By the time he got to the Centre the suspects had given up their chase.

Detective Inspector Jeff Minns said: "We believe these attacks are linked, and would ask anyone in the area to be vigilant. We are reviewing CCTV from both incidents to identify the group."

The man was left with cuts to his hands and arms, a swollen right cheek, and bruising on his arms and back.

He was unable to identify his attackers but there was a footprint on the back of the victim's t-shirt.

Police are looking for eight men aged between 18 to 25 and ranging in height between 5ft 6in and 5ft 10in. If you have any information call 020 8247 6160/5940.
