Hounslow GLA member Tony Arbour faces a serious threat to his political career for allegedly revealing confidential information to a reporter.
Mr Arbour is also a member of Richmond Council whose standards sub-committee will decide next week what his fate will be, after an independent investigation decided Coun Arbour breached the councillor's code of conduct by revealing the information.
The allegations facing Coun Arbour date back to July 2006, when he is alleged to have told Richmond and Twickenham Times reporter, Chris Wickham, how much a council-owned property, Terrace Yard, was worth. At the time, the property was up for sale, with some of the proceeds to be channelled off for work on the adjoining Terrace and Buccleuch Gardens.
An official complaint against Coun Arbour was lodged by Coun Stephen Knight. Coun Arbour has already said he will not attend the meeting of the standards sub-committee because there is, in his opinion, no case to answer.
