MONDAY 2PM UPDATE: A machine gun was used in a brutal double shooting in Brentford last week, police have revealed.

One man died and another is in a stable condition in hospital after shots were fired in Fraser House, off Green Dragon Lane, at around 9.15pm on Thursday night.

The murder victim was named on Monday as Dean Tully, 37, of no fixed abode.

He died of multiple gunshot wounds, a post mortem examination held at Fulham Mortuary found.

The other wounded man, also said to be in his 30s, has not been named.

The automatic machine gun has yet to be recovered.

Several people were in a flat with the victims when the shooting occurred, police have said.

A Met spokesperson said: "We know there were a number of people at the address at the time and would urge them to come forward. All information will be treated in the strictest confidence.

"We are exploring all lines of inquiry including the possibility that those who either reside at or visit that address may have been targeted. We continue to keep an open mind regarding the motive."

Superintendent Simon Phipps, of Hounslow Police, said: "This is a shocking and isolated incident on Hounslow borough. While the investigating team are progressing the investigation we have been working closely with the local authority and our partner agencies to try and reassure the community."

Residents voiced their concerns about the shooting to the Brentford, Chiswick and Isleworth Times on Friday morning.

Susan Stacey, from nearby Cornish House, said: "The people who got shot are definitely to do with drugs. But they are very nice people."

A woman living on the 17th floor of Fraser House believed that the shooting took place in a first floor flat.

She added that she heard a police helicopter flying around the area late on Thursday night.

Fraser House and neighbouring Wickstead House were still cordoned off throughout Friday as detectives and forensic officers inspected the scene.

Some Fraser residents were forced to spend Thursday night on camp beds in a hall on the estate after being barred from their homes.

All were given permission to re-enter their flats from 7.30am on Friday, as long as they were escorted in and out by police.

Five police vehicles were stationed around the cordon zone on Friday.

A mum living opposite Fraser House said: "It's worrying especially when it is on your doorstep."

She added: "You get a lot of kids beaten up around here by drug dealers."

Another mum said: "There are quite a few dealers around the estate. We tell our girls not to go over there."

Fraser House is one of six high-rise council blocks in an estate on Green Dragon Lane, behind the Kew Bridge Steam Museum.

Anyone with information should call the Incident Room at Sutton police station on 0208 721 4165 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

No arrests have been made. Police enquiries are continuing.
