Skipton-born poet, writer and literary critic Blake Morrison will present his new collection of poems at Skipton Library next Thursday, November 22.

A Discoverie of Witches combines new poems with previously published work and gives voice to the participants and victims of the Lancashire Witch Trials of 1612.

The poems also explore the dark Pennine landscapes - where the natural seems to meet and merge with the supernatural.

Blake was brought up in Earby and was educated at Ermysted’s Grammar School, Skipton. He is the author of two bestselling memoirs, And When Did You Last See Your Father? and Things My Mother Never Told Me, two novels and a study of the Bulger case. He is also a poet, critic, journalist and librettist and teaches creative writing at Goldsmiths College, The event starts at 7.30pm and admission is £5, which includes refreshments.
