UK champion wheelchair rugby players have been chosen as Twickenham Harlequins' charity for 2008.

London Lions, based in Stanmore, is the closest of four wheelchair rugby teams in London that will benefit from the Harlequins' fundraising efforts this year.

The four clubs form London Wheelchair Rugby Club (LWRC), a registered charity that promotes the sport for people with spinal cord injuries and upper limb impairment.

The club are already national wheelchair rugby champions and European club champions, with several members playing for the Great Britain national team and the Paralympic squad.
