No conferring: The scientists with host Jeremy Paxman
A team of borough professionals have survived two TV showdowns with every politician's nightmare in a bid to become national quiz champions.
Four scientists from Teddington's National Physical Laboratory (NPL) have proved their intelligence to Jeremy Paxman and reached the final of BBC2's University Challenge -The Professionals.
Roger Scowen, James Miall, Kevin Marshall and team captain Louise Wright wrote off the Society of Authors in round one then came from behind to give the hospital consultants a taste of their own medicine on Tuesday, April 15.
Ms Wright said: "It was a real team performance."
On Tuesday, April 22, the team will attempt to "break" the law as they take on the Ministry of Justice in a bid to become the show's ultimate professionals.
