Students from a borough primary school became stars of international TV when they appeared on a programme for BBC World.

The youngsters from The Vineyard Primary School, in Richmond, were filmed by the broadcaster as they held a live link-up with children from Cameroon, with Children's BBC programme Newsround also filming.

The link-up was arranged after a BBC report on a forest in Cameroon, where a local community of Baka people is using Helveta technology to create online maps documenting forest use and incidences of illegal logging in their area.

Children from the Friars Stile Road school spoke directly to their African peers and shared the maps with them over the internet.
