CadRam by RegaLead, the Northfleet-based international supplier and manufacturer of decorative glass products recently delivered on its promise to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity (RDMCC), beating the £10,000 fundraising target it had set for the year.

Fundraising activities included a golf challenge spanning five countries, and most recently, a gruelling three day and 220 mile cycle ride from London’s Tower Bridge to the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

It was whilst battling the tail end of Hurricane Bertha during this ride that the team found out about their fundraising achievement, as Sevenoaks resident and Joint Managing Director of RegaLead, Darren Baker explains: “We started out the ride in high spirits, each dressed as a character from a Roald Dahl book. During the last day in France we were battling against the elements and one member was suffering from a bad knee injury, when we discovered we had beaten our £10,000 fundraising target for the year. This was fantastic news and really kept us going. We covered roughly 70 miles each day through alternating blistering heat and storms and I’d like to extend special thanks to everyone who generously donated, and of course to every member of Team Marvellous for their truly marvellous efforts.

“RDMCC is such a worthwhile charity, which was set up 22 years ago as the Roald Dahl Foundation, to help seriously ill children and young people within the UK and to make their lives better. It provides essential support for children and their families so that they can still enjoy a good quality of life and, importantly, manage to have some fun, despite their illness. We are all very passionate about raising as much money as possible to help them continue their good work, and while we’ve beaten our target, the support needed by the charity is ongoing, so if you’d like to donate to this worthy cause, you can do so by visiting our Just Giving page at:www.justgiving.com/teams/RegaLead.”
