The result for the Feltham and Heston race is due.
But the announcement of the outcome for the neighbouring Brentford and Isleworth seat has been delayed.
The delay came about ater 1,200 spoilt ballot papers, across both constituencies, had to be checked by all candidates and agents.
Incumbent Labour MP for Feltham and Heston, Alan Keen, confirmed by phone that he would not head to the Civic Centre until just before the results are announced.
He said: "I'm going to be there when it's ready."
It has not been confirmed when his wife Ann Keen, incumbent Labour MP for Brentford and Isleworth, will arrive.
Turnout figures for both constituencies have been high.
Brentford and Isleworth was 64.73 per cent, and Feltham and Heston was 60.35 per cent.
They were up between 8 and 10 per cent on the 2005 election.
