Brentford's BB star Marcus Akin reveals all

Marcus Akin Marcus Akin

Celebrity love interests, TV shows and hordes of screaming fans - Brentford’s biggest celebrity has revealed what life is like outside the Big Brother house.

Marcus Akin said he was straight back to Brentford after being kicked off the show last week and when our reporter caught up with the carpenter he was just about to go on Radio 1.

Since leaving the house the tattooed 35-year-old has stayed up for 67 hours trying to respond to every supporter online - and said he would be keen for a super fan to hire a Brentford hall for a big party where everyone could meet him.

He told the Hounslow and Brentford Times: “When I got out on Saturday I went to The Pit in Hounslow for a night my friend runs and it was brilliant. I had my picture taken with about 8,000 people. I met a few nice girls but they all seem to live bloody miles away which is a shame.

“But I am the type of person who likes to get to know a girl before anything happens and I am going to wait until the whole spotlight has faded until I get into anything.”

Marcus, who was hailed as the best housemate ever by Big Brother host Davina McCall, said he has had some surprising love interests - including TV and showbiz pundit Grace Dent who interviewed him on eviction night.

He said: “I didn’t know who she was or anything but she seemed to like me.

“I have been overwhelmed by the support I have got and I am so blessed to have the friends I have and that people liked me. It’s nice to think people had a rubbish day then they could come back, watch Big Brother and I would entertain them.”

Marcus, who said the highlight of his 13 weeks on the show was cheating in front of four million people to win the electric shock task, said he would do the show again if he was paid and could erase one memory.

While remaining tightlipped on exactly what that memory was, the former Hounslow Manor student said he planned to meet up with his house love interest Noirin.

He said: “You try and have fun in there, Big Brother tells you to have fun and you try jumping around, they tell you to stop because of health and safety. Make a ball from socks and they will tell you to stop. They just want you to sit around and argue.

“But I am going to have an awesome time and it was the experience of a lifetime.”

As for the future, Marcus said he was just going to wait and see.

He said: “I have been doing TV shows and stuff I like and there has been some talk of launching the Wolverine DVD but I will just wait until a contract is put in front of me. Who knows what will happen.”

We asked you what to ask Marcus. Here we put your questions to him: What are your thoughts on the cancellation of Big Brother?

“I already knew it was going to happen two years ago because the contract runs out. But I think it has done well to last this long, not many shows do that. A lot of people are saying this was the best ever, I know viewing figures were low but they are low across the board.”

Biggest regret?

“When I tore up the sign in the diary room. i did not realise it was attached to anything and thought it was one of those temporary signs but when I did realise I just thought in for a penny in for a pound.”

What did you bought at Toys r us on Tuesday?

I bought a 35 Terminator Salvation action figure and a Transformer. Oh, and a mint Magnum.”
