Commuters were hit by traffic chaos this morning as they tried to make their way through Kingston.
Drivers faced severe delays as long queues through the one way system backed up traffic and caused jams on the A308 Sopwith Way and A307 Richmond Road/ Canbury Park Road.
The gridlock is believed to have been caused by failure of traffic lights around that area.
There was also traffic building up on Kingston Bridge heading eastbound but reports suggest the traffic is now easing up and starting to move again.
A spokesperson for Transport for London said: “Traffic remains slow moving in the Kingston Town area due to the traffic signal fault, notably westbound on Fairfield North and London Road.”
