Kingston carnival made a triumphant return on Sunday with reggae band The Skints impressing visitors as they tried to keep the crown in order.
The East London group performed as part of the annual celebration and impressed well-behaved carnival goers when at one point they stopped to tell someone off for throwing beer.
Other entertainment on the day included tribal dressed African drummers, dancers in tutus and wings, and free music from a variety of countries and cultures.
And crowds lined the streets as a colourful procession of elaborately dressed carnival dancers made their way through the town, starting from the Guildhall.
The much anticipated event is held every year as a celebration of cultural diversity and heritage, organised by the Kingston Race and Equalities Council with Global Arts, Kingston Town Centre management and Kingston Council.
