A family are appealing for people to come forward with information about their missing pet tortoise with a foot fetish.

Humphrey, a seven-year-old horsefield tortoise, went missing from a garden in Marlborough Close, Hersham, on Saturday, August 11.

He was last seen at noon and did not return inside at 4pm for his dinner.

The garden where he was last seen is very secure, so it was not believed that he burrowed out. Humphrey’s owner, Linsey Jones, said it was possible he was taken from the garden.

Ms Jones said: “If someone has found him or unknowingly bought him, I would pay whatever it takes to get him back. He really does mean the world to us.”

Ms Jones and her two children, aged three and one, have been searching the area and put up posters and posting leaflets.

The tip of Humphrey’s beak has broken off, so he is unable to fully close his mouth, and the tortoise is also said to have a foot fetish and chases people with no shoes on. Email Linsey Jones at linseyjones@hotmail.com .
