Schoolboys will get the unique opportunity to experience life as a chorister in the magnificent chapel at Hampton Court Palace.
The palace wants eight to 10 year olds to take part in a taster afternoon for the first time in its history.
The boys will join in with a choral workshop and enjoy a performance in the Chapel Royal on Saturday, September 8, before having tea and chat with the real choirboys.
Richard Ashe, 11, of Grenville Mews, Hampton Hill, has been a chorister since March 2011, and has really enjoyed the experience.
He said: “Being a chorister at Hampton Court is unlike anything I have ever done and I will remember it all my life.
“This year I had the honour of singing for the Queen and the delight of scoring a goal when we beat St James’s Palace choristers in our annual football tournament.”
Richard was a pupil at Hampton Hill Junior School before winning a music scholarship to go to Halliford School, where he will start in September.
Choristers have sung in the Chapel Royal since Tudor times, performing in their distinctive royal red cassocks and getting a free musical education.
