Last chance to see cyclists on Richmond's streets

Transport for London has advised people to plan ahead, with huge crowds expected to line the streets of London and Surrey for today’s time trial.

Hundreds of thousands of spectators lined last weekend’s events, and people are advised to get there early and plan ahead today.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: “The Olympic road events offer a great opportunity to see some of the world’s top athletes in competition and to experience the numerous other attractions London has to offer.

“Given the huge numbers of people who will be in London for the Games, it is really important that people follow our travel advice and plan ahead.”

Richmond Council has issued a huge amount of advice on road closures and has been tweeting to help residents as much as possible.

The women's time trial starts at 12.30pm from Hampton Court Palace and the men set off at 2.15pm.
