Richmond artists are opening the doors to the public to show off the studios, homes and gardens where they work in a unique exhibition.

The Arthouse open studios festival, organised by Richmond Council’s arts service, will take place on the weekend starting on Friday, June 22, and again on the weekend of Friday, June 29, and will offer a rare opportunity to see artists, craftspeople and students in their creative environments.

Eighty artists were expected to take part in this year’s borough wide event, as well as 12 community groups and seven schools keen to showcase work.

Councillor Pamela Fleming, Richmond’s cabinet member for community, business and culture said: “Allowing visitors into private studios offers a unique opportunity to see where local art is created and will give art lovers a chance to buy original works made in the borough.

“Richmond is well known for its artistic talent and there’s no better way to view local art and meet your local artists than this festival.”
