Horse Ranger Association march to Hampton Court Palace

Hundreds of Horse Ranger Association members marched to Hampton Court Palace, led by eight horses and riders.

The palace was the focus of the youth organisation’s annual celebration on Saturday, February 25.

More than 200 marched along Hampton Court Road from their headquarters at the nearby Royal Mews.

The day is a big event in the charity’s calendar, as the children take time to remember the man who founded the group in 1954.

Raymond Gordon’s vision was to enable young people, who would not otherwise have the opportunity, to learn to look after and ride horses.

Saturday’s ceremony also included their band and mascot, a Shetland pony called Cameo.

A private service was then held at 2pm in the Chapel Royal before the six squadrons, who were joined by members from their sister organisation in Windsor, marched back to base.
