The lucky finalists for Richmond Borough’s Biggest Loser competition will start their 12-week fitness regime next week.
Fitness instructor Chris Hipsey, from Plan B Fitness Camps, chose the winners at the weekend - picking seven, instead of the original six, because he found it too difficult to choose who would go through.
The group met on Wednesday, February 1, at Mooca cafe in Teddington High Street, for a chance to size up the competition.
Louise Anderson, 32, from Teddington, applied for the competition after years of yo-yo dieting left her frustrated.
The full-time mother said: “I have two very young children and I would like to make sure that I’m around for them.
“I’m quite nervous about starting the competition, but I’m feeling really good about it now.”
The group will follow Mr Hipsey’s Mend Fitness and Fat Loss System, which promises to help people “lose inches, tone up and get amazingly fit”.
They will get the full Plan B 28-day education and will have to provide a food diary, which instructors will give them feedback on.
Another competitor limbering up for the competition is Natasha Thomas, 43, from Hampton.
The “full-time domestic goddess” said: “I just want to get back to being able to look in the mirror and not be disgusted with what I’m looking at.”
The remaining participants are Alyssa Rowlandson, 40, Holly Scott, 32, and Nick Brown, 43, all from Teddington and Emma Hole, 33,and Jennifer Brunner, 39, both from Hampton.
Mr Hipsey said: “It was great to meet all of our participants at our first meeting and I am delighted with the group we have. They are all full of passion and motivation and cannot wait to get started. We are going to have a very exciting journey together over the next 12 weeks.
“I cannot wait to get started with our new campers next week. The existing Fitness Camp members are really excited to have them joining, and are really excited to be able to help them during the competition.”
The group will meet again on Sunday evening for the first weigh-in and will begin the programme on Monday.
See next week’s paper for more from each of our competitors.
