The start of a new year puts pressure on people to change their lives in some dramatic way.
Whether your resolution is to stop smoking or lose weight, by February it may have gone horribly wrong.
The new book from Now Magazine’s agony aunt and east Twickenham resident, Caroline Buchanan, The 15 Minute Rule: How to Stop Procrastinating and Take Control of Your Life can help make your goals achievable.
The book is designed to inspire people to make the most of their potential and covers topics ranging from weight loss to finding financial freedom and the importance of willingness and enthusiasm.
The idea is that taking breaks every 15 minutes gives you less pressure, more self compassion and focus, which will make a huge difference to your mindset and lifestyle.
Ms Buchanan’s inspiration for the book was her tax return. She says: “I couldn’t put it off any longer so came up with the idea of doing it 15 minutes at a time – thinking that virtually anything is manageable for 15 minutes.
“The response from the public has been fabulous. I’m really pleased because I believe in it so passionately. Dreams really can come true with my book.”
Even actor Martin Clunes is a huge fan. He says: “I really like the premise and have every intention of applying your 15 minute rule to many aspects of my life and I could well start in about 15 minutes.”
