An eleven year friendship will continue to blossom after two best friends from Hampton Hill got accepted at the same university.

Polly Teuten, of Park Road, and Hannah Davies, of St James’s Road, will both attend Bristol after sweeping the exam results board with a flurry of As and A*s.

The 18-year-old Lady Eleanor Holles students were delighted at the news.

Headgirl Polly, who plans to study medicine, said: “I got 4 A*s and it was incredible. I can’t really describe [the feeling] . It was a shock, just unbelievable. I’m overjoyed and so happy.

“The hardwork definitely paid off.”

House captain Hannah, who will study law, added: “I got 3 A*s and 1 A. It’s absolutely amazing I didn’t expect to get in.

“I can not stop smiling. Me and Polly choose our universities separately as we didn’t want to influence each other but we both ended up choosing Bristol.”

Dreams of caring for animals come true

Following in the footsteps of her grandfather has lead one 18-year-old Lady Eleanor Holles student to study veterinary studies in Edinburgh.

And June Hart, of Spencer Road, Twickenham, couldn’t be happier than when she found out she had got 4 A*s and would be able to follow her dream of working with animals.

She said: “It hasn’t really hit me yet but I’m really happy.

“I’ve always known I’ve wanted to work with animals and I couldn’t see another career where I would get to use all the skills I’ve learnt so well. Each case is like a new problem and the idea of solving problems really appeals to me.”

Making the university move together

Moving away to university will be made all the easier for two school friends as they are both heading off to Kings College in central London.

Swarna Jeyabraba and Amandeep Kaur Bains, both 18, will both be leaving Lady Eleanor Holles school and moving to the capital after scoring seven A* a-levels between them.

Future doctor Swarna, of Heathside, Esher said: “I was very surprised... you just don’t know with some exams.

“I am so excited I can now plan everything. My mum was so excited she wouldn’t put the phone down for five minutes.”

And prospective dentist Amandeep added: “I’m shocked, I didn’t expect it. I was panicing before [I found out].”
