Some of the world’s top polo players entertained international dignitaries at a charity match that raised £20,000 for victims of the Pakistan floods.
Ham Polo Club, based in Petersham Road, Richmond, played against BHC - Dewa, from Pakistan, on Saturday, August 13.
The High Commissioner of Pakistan, Wajid Shamsul Hasan, and Countess Zichy Thyssen, of Argentina, were among hundreds of spectators.
They enjoyed a charity art auction and an exhibition of blue pottery from Pakistan after the game.
Emran Akhtar, founder of the Charity Support Trust, said: “We are thrilled to have raised much needed funds for the flood victims in Pakistan whilst enjoying a quality polo match in the wonderful London Polo Club in Ham.
“All the people worked on a voluntary basis on this event and the players donated their time to be part of this special afternoon.
“I would like to extend a thank you to all those involved and our special guests on the day.”
