More than 20 people living in social housing have had their problems solved thanks to the introduction of Richmond Council’s tenants’ champion.
Councillor Lisa Blakemore has helped social housing tenants living across the borough with long term issues, including outstanding repairs, damp, and antisocial neighbours, since taking up the role last year.
She said: “Social landlords in this borough do a great job, but cases will occasionally slip through the cracks and that is where I can help.”
The tenants’ champion will step in to assist residents living in social housing in Richmond when all other efforts to find a resolution have fail.
