Culture is on the agenda in a series of activities available for children this summer.

Kids will get the chance to make Asian fans and dream catchers, decorate gliders or try their hand at pottery during one of the Shout! Activities workshops.

There will also be a day of drama, art and games for younger children when they explore the world of fairies. During the day, they will make masks, before getting the chance to create and perform their own fairy tales.

Another workshop, the Medieval Quest Day, will involve solving riddles and challenges.

Elmbridge Museum is also getting in on the act, with an Ancient Greek day, where kids will learn about Ancient Greek history as well as making their own swords, shields and helmets.

Hot on the heels of this will be another workshop, where children can learn about the myths of Perseus and Medusa and write their own Greek drama.

The Shout! Activities are available for children between five and 13-year-old.

Councillor Jan Fuller, portfolio holder for leisure and culture at Elmbridge Council, said: "Culture is a part of our history and Elmbridge has a strong heritage in this.

"I am very pleased that our Shout programme is giving our young people a chance to learn and experience cultural history on their doorstep."
