An elderly man was today airlifted to hospital after a collision with a cyclist in Petersham Road.
The pedestrian, who has not been named, was taken to the Royal London Hospital by air ambulance to be treated for a head injury.
The London Ambulance Service (LAS) said it was called at 11.50am to reports of a road traffic accident involving a pedestrian and a cyclist.
A single response unit, two ambulances and an air ambulance attended.
A spokeswoman for the LAS said: "Officers treated two patients, an elderly man with head injuries and a 48-year-old man who was taken as a priority to St George's hospital."
The accident is believed to have taken place outside the Britsh Royal Legion's poppy factory.
And the A307 Petersham Road was closed heading in a southbound direction due to the accident.
