Commuters are facing delays of up to an hour after a man died when he was struck by a train this morning.

The 68-year-old died at Surbiton station just after 9am, British Transport Police said.

Trains are still disrupted because of the incident, made worse by a national issue with the rail network’s IT system.

South West Trains (SWT) commuters were tonight facing delays of up to an hour in and out of London Waterloo.

On its website SWT said an amended timetable was running to and from Waterloo for the rest of today.

It confirmed trains in and out of Waterloo were subject to delays of up to 60 minutes and trains between the station and Shepperton via Kingston were being diverted via Twickenham.
