Rail commuters continue to face disruption today.

Many trains serving Richmond and Twickenham are delayed by up to half an hour as South West Trains (SWT) runs a reduced service.

Other services between Waterloo and Richmond are cancelled as temperatures reach well below freezing.

A reduced service is running on the London Waterloo to Reading, Windsor and Kingston via Richmond line.

Meanwhile, on the Hampton Court branch there are no services running.

SWT said commuters should check their route before travelling today and leave extra time for their journey.

The train operator apologised for disruption to its services.

Andy Pitt, SWT managing director, said: "We are doing all we can in partnership with Network Rail to keep passengers updated and our trains moving.

"We understand the impact this is having on our customers, and would like to thank them for their patience during these difficult conditions.

"We would also like to apologise to passengers who were affected by delays on their journey home during the evening peak last night.

"The freezing weather conditions are continuing to cause disruption to road, rail and air transport in many parts of the country, including train services on our network.

"We have put in place a revised timetable to ensure we can make the best use of the resources we have available. Our advice to passengers is to check for updates before they travel and allow longer for their journeys."
