An independent toy shop has expanded into a new building that is five times bigger – just in time for Christmas.

Play Inside Out, in Broad Street, Teddington, moved to a larger premeses on the opposite side of the road on Saturday, and celebrated by inviting children to enjoy a day of crafts and face painting.

Owner Nicola Cooper, who founded the store 11 years ago, said the youngsters had an “absolutely fantastic” day.

The mother-of-three said: “There was a very good buzz about the place, we were very busy. We had outgrown our premeses and had the opportunity to move into a bigger premeses to extend our range and cater for more children.”

She said one pushchair caused “gridlock” in the old store, but now they had much more room for new products.

She added: “We’ve introduced a nursery section with essential nursery products, and a range of clothing and nightwear.”

She also said she hoped the store would attract more shoppers to Teddington.
