Zac Goldsmith has been named the most fanciable MP.

The Richmond Park MP was named best looking on a new set of political Top Trump-style cards.

Mr Goldmsith polled 100 for "fanciability", with Nick Clegg and David Cameron lagging behind on 80.

The card describes the Tory MP as a "millionaire environmentalist with matinee idol good looks."

It adds: "The Tories' over-enthusiastic new poster boy is perhaps a little bit green in every sense of the word. Lend us a fiver, guv."

The tongue-in-cheek Sky News cards also mark politicians on their majority, number of years in Parliament, potential and "storm warning" - or potential to fall from grace.

Although initially lost for words, Mr Goldsmith said: "Very flattering. I hope I get the same strike rate when it comes to policy."

Twickenham MP Vince Cable also features in the Top Trumps but the Business Secretary is a long way off the pace with a fanciability rating of just 35.

The card states: "He was the great oracle of the banking crisis but even St Vince couldn't have forseen that he'd be waltzing into Mandy's job after the election.

"He called his memoirs 'free radical' and a loose Cable could trip up the coalition."

Former GMTV girl Gloria de Piero, now Labour MP in Ashfield, was the prettiest woman with 79 per cent.

Meanwhile, David Miliband beat his younger brother Ed in the appearance stakes. He polled 95 per cent to Ed's 77.

Sky News launched the cards to mark the start of the conference season.

The MPs were rated by political editor Adam Boulton and a team including Quentin Letts of the Daily Mail.
