A nature loving seven-year-old got the chance to visit Kew Gardens after winning a national drawing competition.
Rosemary Capewell, of Townshend Terrace, Richmond, said she was delighted when she heard her vision for a ‘fantasy tree’ had helped her beat over 300 other entrants to pick up a special prize of a day out at the botanical gardens.
She said: “I just saw the slip of paper which had the fantasy tree competition on and thought why don’t I join in.
“I screamed when I found out I’d won. The gardens were fantabulous, just fantastic, I love Kew.”
The keen artist, who got the opportunity to explore the gardens and lend the gardeners a hand, also picked up £500 in vouchers for the famous Hamleys toy shop, after winning toilet paper brand Velvet’s ‘my fantasy tree competition’.
Rosemary, who attends Marshgate Primary School, designed her perfect fantasy tree with flowers on the branches and a doorway in the trunk to another magical land.
The competition was organised to coincide with Kew opening the new Treehouse Towers outdoor play area this summer.
