Young families need your help

A voluntary group called Home Start which offers help, support and advice to young families desperately needs more workers.

If you can afford two hours a week to do what is called a very rewarding job phone 0181 224 9777 or pop along to the coffee morning on March 12 at the Home Start Office on Ray Road West Molesey.

It's his goal

A Richmond student achieved his goal when he made his debut for the England under 18 football team. Sam Parkin a PE and History student at Richmond Adult College scored England's only goal in one all draw against Belgium. As well as studying Sam spends two days a week training at Chelsea FC.

Taxing time

A tax team from Hounslow Tax Office will be at Richmond Library, The Cottage, Little Green, Richmond, tomorrow, Friday, to give free advice to callers. The team will be able to answer questions people may have on self assessment, tax codes and general tax matters. A wide range of free leaflets will be available for people to take away and read at home.

Woman mugged

A 57-year-old woman was robbed of her purse in a violent attack on Saturday night. The unnamed woman was walking along Manor Road in Richmond when the attack took place by the level crossing. She was pushed over. Her attacker snatched her purse containing cash and credit cards
