A woman was pulled from her van as a man tried to rob her last Saturday.
The attempted robbery took place at the roundabout at the junction of Station Hill and Mill Road in Barnes.
At first the man demanded money but when the woman said she had no cash he tried to steal a gold bangle she was wearing.
The police are looking for a coloured man, 5ft 8in tall with short black hair and wearing black jeans, a sky blue top and Nike trainers. He was also wearing a gold sovereign ring.
