An east London man suspected of murdering a Romanian in the back of an ambulance will appear in court today.
Eugen Breahna, 26, died from a fractured skull after a mob of up to 20 youths attacked him while he was being treated by paramedics in north London on 18 January.
On Saturday 30-year-old Gabriel Alecu, 30, from Barking, was charged with the murder.
At 9pm on the night of the killing, the injured Mr Breahna approached ambulance crew in the Bounds Green Road.
He was in the rear of the emergency vehicle, parked about 20 yards from Bounds Green Tube station, when the gang attacked him.
The paramedics kept trying to help him.
When the youths fled, Mr Breahna was taken to North Middlesex Hospital. He died from head injuries at 10.30pm.
Three men arrested shortly after the murder were released without charge. Another two detainees were bailed to return in February and March respectively.
Mr Alecu is due to appear before Woolwich Magistrates Court.
