AS communities in the area struck by the Asian tsunami disaster begin rebuilding their lives, people in the borough of Richmond continue to give.
Twickenham student Jessie Makins raised over £1,435 with a night of music at the Don Pepe Charlton Hotel, Hampton Court Road.
Rain, a London soul/funk band, the Downbeats and Naissant were joined by local singer Catherine Pockson who sang her song Sea Change, inspired by the tsunami.
Music was also the theme of the day at The Cabbage Patch in Twickenham, where around £5,000 was raised following an evening of entertainment.
Local bands Greasy Hogwash and Marner Brown played alongside Reggie Balmoral for over three hours. The event was supported by a number of local businesses with the pub doubling the raffle money and staff donated their wages for the evening.
Two seven year olds determined to help children in the devastated region held a concert to raise money for Unicef.
Rebecca Dodd, a pupil at Lady Eleanor Holles, and Caitlin Deasy, of Newland House school, orchestrated the event which saw children from across the borough perform in Holy Trinity Church Hall on Twickenham Green.
Over £700 was raised as performers sang, danced and played, and the audience dug deep for a raffle.
On Saturday staff from Old Vicarage School, Richmond, raised more than £4,000 walking around Richmond Park. They were joined throughout the sponsored walk by girls and parents from the school who all helped raise the grand total.
Three children will spend the weekend without food in a bid to raise money for the disaster-struck region.
Mandar, 15, Sonam, 13 and Tilac Patel, 9, are foregoing food for two days in the hope of raising over £2,100 in sponsorship.
Nicki Patel, the children's mother and owner of Newsbox newsagents in Richmond Road, is looking forward to time without cooking but says she will be joining the fast.
Food will not stop flowing at Belmonts bakers based in Twickenham who have Twickenham upon Thames Rotary Club buckets waiting for donations at their branches in Heath Road, Queens Road and Stanley Road.
