Bratz Dolls have been named as the favourite Christmas present in Hounslow this year, according to the area's Woolworth stores.

After fighting Barbie for the prime position of most popular toy last year Bratz have proven again that girl power has a lasting effect, and has remained one of the top selling toys in the store. The list of popular toys also sees Power Rangers making a comeback as well as the Leapfrog Leapster securing a place in the top six toys.

A spokesperson for Woolworths said: "Bratz was very popular last year and it is still one of the top toys in demand this Christmas. It's great to see the Power Rangers becoming so popular as well because they are generally quite retro toys."

The popularity of the toys extends beyond the children.

Chiswick resident Andre Beglarian, 28, finished off his last minute Christmas shopping with a Leapfrog Leapster for his four-year-old daughter, Ziazan.

He said: "I love these toys almost as much as my daughter does because they are educational for her with their interactive abilities. They are good value for money, easy to use, and very child friendly."

Other top selling toys in Woolworths this year include Robosapien, Tamagotchi, and pink mobile phones.
