At the Brewster sessions held at Acton court on Friday, Mr C. Page-Taylor, chairman, announced a reduction in cases of drunkenness in the division during 1951 of 16. In 1950, he said, there were 96 such cases, but in 1951 this had dropped to 80. He added he hopes the reason for this improvement is the better control people have of themselves.

Middlesex County Council has rejected a suggestion that Percy House, Isleworth, should be used as a nurses' home for the West Middlesex Hospital. Percy House, for some years an old person's home was previously part of that hospital but used exclusively for older patients.

In place of the usual monthly lecture, a series of short films was shown at Brentford library on Friday. The first shown was a review of Britain's progress from the exhibition of 1851 to 1951 and went on to make a few predictions as to the future.
