It is somewhat of an innovation in this neighbourhood at least to find a road in a purely residential district lighted with electricity. Sheen Gate-gardens, the pretty new road opened up by Mr Pennington, from the Richmond-road, East Sheen, to the gate almost of Sheen House Club, can, however, claim to be right up-to-date in this respect.
There has been some very fair skating on the Penn Ponds in Richmond Park during the last three days, and should it freeze hard tonight there will be more tomorrow.
At the Town Hall, Windsor, yesterday, a Light Railway Commission sat to consider the application by the Metropolitan District Electric Traction Company for an order for a light railway extending from the Hounslow Barracks Station of the Metropolitan District Railway to Slough and Datchet, by way of the Bath-road.
