Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly opens Twickenham's Poundland store

A warm Weatherfield welcome was in store for shoppers as a bargain shop opened its doors.

Coronation Street actress Katherine Kelly left the cobbled streets of the TV soap to officially open the new Poundland store in Twickenham.

The actress, who plays Becky Granger in the show, cut a ribbon outside the shop in King Street, which offers shoppers brand-name goods for £1.

Poundland trading director David Coxon said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be opening a store in Twickenham, creating jobs and great shopping opportunities.

“I’m sure savvy shoppers in the area will be delighted by the amazing value Poundland offers.”
