Punters who fear Lady Luck has deserted them should know that one of Britain's luckiest betting shops is on their doorstep.

Ladbrokes has reported that its Putney Bridge Road branch is paying out 5 per cent more to gleeful gamblers than its 2,000 other shops.

It has even brought in feng shui expert and Buddhist Paul Darby to boost customers' luck even more.

He identified a few areas that need attention, explaining: "It's upside down. The offices are in the cellar, not above or on the shop floor. It's like taking a rich man and turning him upside down so money drops out of his pockets.

"The river flowing nearby should be lucky, but it is blocked by a police station and is not getting the luck from it."
