Both punt anglers and those fishing from the bank at Twickenham have done well this week with roach and dace which have run very fine. Some park and perch have been taken, but nothing of any size. the water is now rather bright with good stream.

The fact has been very strongly represented to us during the past few days, that Twickenham is woefully lacking in the number of drinking troughs for animals. At the present moment we can only call to mind one such, and that is situated on the Green. Surely this must be the result of an oversight, but it is very pitiable that in consequence or forgetfulness, poor dumb animals should, especially in the summer time, have to go thirsty.

The formation of a rifle club for Richmond will thoroughly commend itself to those who have realised what a great advantage a knowledge of musketry may be to the civilian. The War Office will allow a limited number of new rifles to be purchased from them at contract price. The railway company allow members of a recognised rifle club the special privilege of travelling to and from the ranges at soldier in uniform' rates.
