Bus route through Kingston, Richmond, Brentford and Ealing named worst in London

The 65 bus service has been given the dubious honour of being named the worst in London.

In the past eight months, passengers travelling between Kingston, Richmond, Brentford and Ealing on the 65 route have made 107 complaints about the service - the highest number of any bus in the capital.

And the bad news does not end there. The 65 also made it to fourth spot in the top ten of buses that fail to stick to their timetable.

Transport for London (TfL) blamed a forced diversion through Brentford, which lasted several months, and roadworks in Kingston and Richmond Circus for the sudden drop in service performance.

But we want to hear your thoughts. Do you regularly use the 65? Are you happy with the service? What do you think the reason for the number of complaints is and what should TfL do?

I waited 35 mins the other day and was nearly late for work!

The way that local roadworks are affecting public transport is really getting out of hand. Its becoming a simple "Quality of Life" issue - it should be possible to go out & about doing local shopping in a reasonable amount of time, not hours. Twice recently I've come back from Richmond to Sheen & the journey's taken over an hour due to the roadworks at Queens Rd/Manor Rd (by the way, do you get a prize if you see more than 2 people working there?!). This is ridiculous, & it doesn't help when there's a jobsworth driver who'll only let people get off at bus stops, despite being immobile for 20 minutes at a time. And this was mid-afternoon, nowhere near the rush hour. I don't drive so have no choice.

Since flogging off OUR red London Transport buses to private operators in the early 1990s, I've rarely seen an inspector out on any route turning buses that are bunching up.
The new buses might be fitted with GPS - giving operators an idea of precisely where each one is - but they don't have the will to use this knowledge and spread them out along the route.
We need TfL to force them to do this.
