The Prince of Wales will be in Barnes tomorrow to mark a special anniversary.

Prince Charles is due to visit St Paul’s School, in Lonsdale Road, to mark the 500th anniversary of the all-boys independent school.

St Paul’s has marked the anniversary of its 1509 foundation - or quincentenary - with a series of events, including an open day and gala concert, and the royal visit will come close to the end of a year of celebration.

Prince Charles will meet the school’s mathematics team as well as members of the school’s rowing and rugby teams.

He will also visit the school’s theatre and join an assembly of nearly 1,000 pupils in the gymnasium where Martin Stephen, the High Master, will give a speech and Alexander Grahame, chairman of governors, will invite him to unveil a plaque to mark the visit.
